Foam Breast Prosthesis

Swim Breast Forms

1–2 Weeks After Surgery

In the early days, you'll usually start with a lightweight temporary form, soft fiberfill or foam. It's gentle on healing tissue and restores shape under clothing while you recover.

6–8 Weeks After Surgery

Once your surgical site has healed, swelling has settled, and your physician has cleared you, you may be ready for a long-term form. From there, a certified fitter helps you explore silicone and other options to find what fits your body, your routine, and your preferences.

After your fitting

Getting used to a new form takes a little time. It should feel comfortable from the start, though. If anything rubs, shifts, or doesn't sit right, that's not something to wait out. Your body and your needs can change over time, and we're here for those check-ins for as long as you need them.

Silicone Breast Forms (Ready-Made & Custom)

  • Wash daily with mild soap and lukewarm water.
  • Pat dry with a soft towel.
  • Store in the protective case.
  • Keep away from heat and sharp objects.
  • Follow the manufacturer's care instructions.

Adhesive Breast Forms & Nipples

  • Clean the adhesive surface after each use with mild soap and lukewarm water.
  • Air dry completely before replacing the protective film.
  • Avoid lotions, powders, and oils before application.
  • Store with the protective backing attached.

Foam Breast Forms

  • Hand wash with mild soap and water.
  • Gently squeeze out excess water—do not wring.
  • Air dry completely before storing.

What should I bring to my mastectomy fitting?
Bring any garments or forms you currently wear, a solid-colored form-fitting top, and your insurance information. If you have a prescription or referral, bring that along too.
How often should I replace my breast form?
Replacement depends on the type of breast form you have. Silicone breast forms typically last 1–2 years, while foam breast forms are generally recommended to be replaced every 6 months. We'll help you determine when it's time for a replacement based on normal wear, changes in fit, and any changes in your body.
What is your exchange policy for mastectomy products?

Silicone breast forms may be exchanged for a different size within 10 days of your fitting, provided the form is undamaged and returned in its original box, with the packaging in like-new condition.

Because bras and foam breast forms are considered personal wear items, they cannot be returned or exchanged.

What brands do you carry?
We carry a variety of post-mastectomy products from Amoena, Trulife, and Anita, including breast forms, bras, and other post-mastectomy essentials. Our fitters can help you find the right option based on your fit, lifestyle, and individual needs.
